פרופ' שלמה מארק

Prof. Shlomo Mark is an Associate Professor of Software Engineering. In recent years, he has co-led, together with Prof. Yotam Lurie of Ben-Gurion University, a research group focused on the ethics of technology and the processes involved in technology development. This work spans topics such as AI ethics in the contexts of medicine and aging, cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), Medical IoT (MIoT), and code obfuscation. As part of this research, the team has developed and promoted the Quality Value Driver (QVD) approach—an ethical managerial framework that embeds practical ethical values such as collaboration, openness, and responsibility into software development processes to enhance quality, trust, and overall system performance

His current research interests lie in applied ethics, with particular emphasis on professional ethics and ethical practices in software development and information technology. A central theme in his recent work is the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare, with close attention to its ethical implications. He has co-authored several studies evaluating the accuracy and ethical alignment of AI models—such as ChatGPT—in medical education and clinical decision-making

Prof. Mark is also active in core areas of software engineering, including software testing, quality assurance, agile development methodologies, and scientific computing. His interdisciplinary research includes biomedical diagnostics using spectroscopy and computational modeling in engineering and healthcare applications
