ד"ר נגה ברנשטיין
Dr. Noga Bernstein is a faculty member and head of design history and theory at the Visual Communication Department, Faculty of Architecture and design. Between 2020-2022 Dr. Bernstein served as Visiting Researcher at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem through a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship (Horizon 2020). A specialist of modern design, craft and textiles in the United States and Israel, she currently pursues a long-term research on the history of Israeli textile design and art between the 1940s-1990s, which explores questions of transnational influence, national aesthetics and gender. Her previous research on American textile design Ruth Reeves was supported by prestigious fellowships by the Ameircan Council of Learned Societies and the Smithsonian Institution. Dr. Bernstein’s earned her PhD from Stony Brook University in 2019. Her articles appeared in journals including American Art, Journal of Design History, and Journal of Modern Craft
