ד"ר ליאור נחום

Dr. Lior Nahum is a Lecturer in the Department of Structural Engineering at SCE - Sami Shamoon College of Engineering in Ashdod. He holds a B.Sc. in Structural Engineering, along with an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. (Summa cum Laude) in Energy Engineering from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, focusing on optimization methods for minimizing embodied energy in structural concrete elements

Prior to his current role, Dr. Nahum served as Head of R&D at Criaterra (2020–2025), where he led multidisciplinary teams to develop eco-friendly, recyclable building products, scale technology to full industrialization, and co-author several patents

His research interests lie at the intersection of advanced cementitious composites, textile-reinforced concrete, optimization, and embodied carbon reduction in structures. His work further extends to green building standards, bio-geo-based materials, and automation for sustainable construction, alongside teaching core undergraduate structural engineering courses
