Sharan Elran is an artist-designer and a researcher. His academic and artistic research focuses on digital fabrication, algorithmic design, and their relation to traditional craft practices. Specifically, Sharan develops innovative robotic applications for ceramic artwork production and studies the potential for personal style and expression in automation-oriented environment. In addition, his research creates a theoretical and practical framework for creative collaboration between humans and digital agents. Sharan teaches courses in computational design, digital fabrication, and computer programing. Currently a PhD student at the computer science Dept. at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and holds a Master of Fine Arts from Cranbrook Academy of Art, MI USA. Sharan’s artwork has been exhibited in the USA and Israel and is included in museum and private collections
