Gregory Samelsohn was born in St.-Petersburg, Russia, in 1963. He received the M.Sc. degree (summa cum laude) in RF engineering and the Diploma of Research Engineer in electrooptics, both from the State University of Telecommunications, St.-Petersburg, Russia, in 1985 and 1991, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree (summa cum laude) in electrical and computer engineering from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beer-Sheva, Israel, in 2001

During 1985-1993, his research focused mainly on laser beam propagation in the atmosphere and turbid media, remote sensing, imaging, and adaptive optics. From 1994, he has been involved in a number of R&D projects in the defense-oriented industry. He has been primarily concerned with applications of spread-spectrum and MIMO techniques to radar and sonar systems. Also, his work has addressed a variety of navigation, tracking, and control problems, in particular, the development of FCS algorithms for mobile platforms. During 2000-2003, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at Bar-Ilan University, Department of Physics, where he studied wave interaction with complex structures. He is currently with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Shamoon College of Engineering, Israel, where he directs the Center for Advanced Imaging Systems. His main research interests lie in applied electromagnetics and acoustics, and include wave propagation, inverse scattering, tomography, and radar/sonar imaging
