Why Give?
Opening doors to higher education
At SCE, we believe that education should be accessible to all who aspire to make a difference. Located in the south region, with campuses in Beersheva and Ashdod, SCE is strategically positioned to serve students from communities traditionally underrepresented in higher education. By fostering an academic environment that supports every student, we create opportunities for individuals from various backgrounds to pursue their passions in engineering, design, and technology.
Through dedicated mentorship, academic support services, and programs designed to encourage success, SCE empowers a new generation of thinkers and doers who are prepared to make a meaningful impact. These initiatives help remove barriers to education, enabling students to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society. Our commitment to making education accessible benefits not only our students but also uplifts our surrounding communities, bringing new opportunities for growth and innovation to the region.

SCE’s students and faculty making real impact
At SCE, our students and faculty are dedicated to creating real-world solutions with lasting impact. Through project-oriented learning and innovative hackathons, students tackle pressing social and industry challenges, developing valuable solutions that make a difference. These experiences provide students with hands-on opportunities to engage with real-world challenges, fostering collaboration, creative problem-solving, and the application of practical skills to address issues presented by leaders from the industry.
Events like 'Final Projects with a Social Angle' conference showcase the achievements of students committed to societal change, while our Institute for Applied Research connects academia and industry, transforming research into practical applications that benefit both the community and industry. Strong partnerships, interdisciplinary teamwork, and globalcollaborations create an environment where SCE innovation makes a measurable difference—locally and globally.
Through strong partnerships with industry, interdisciplinary teamwork, and global connections, SCE fosters an environment where innovation thrives and impact is measurable. From local projects that improve community well-being to internationally recognized research, our students and faculty are not only building their futures—they’re helping to shape a better world for all.

Empowering our community
At SCE, we believe that education extends beyond the classroom, driving positive change within the communities we serve. Through community-engaged learning, our students work directly on projects that address real-world challenges, developing practical solutions that make a difference in society. This hands-on approach enhances students'academic journeys, instilling a strong sense of civic duty and social responsibility.
Our commitment to community impact is reflected in diverse initiatives:
- Social Impact Projects: Students work on engineering projects benefiting society, supported by courses and scholarships across all departments.
- Community Involvement Scholarships: Students volunteer with community groups, underscoring our commitment to social welfare.
- Engineering Society Conferences: Events showcasing student-developed engineering solutions addressing social issues.
- Youth Outreach Programs: Mentorship, campus visits, and summer camps to inspire high school students toward engineering careers.
- Community Education Courses: Local residents access continuing education programs for lifelong learning.
- Good Deeds Day: A community festival celebrating engagement with educational and fun activities for all.
Each initiative strengthens our bond with the community, fostering a collaborative environment where everyone can thrive.

Fostering regional growth
SCE is committed to advancing the prosperity of the south region through accessible education, local industry partnerships, and innovative research. Our graduates contribute their skills and expertise back to the community, strengthening the local workforce and often emerging as leaders in their fields.
Attentive to the needs of industry, we continually introduce new academic programs that address the market’s most pressing demands. This commitment to responsiveness led us to establish the region’s only specialized degree program in architecture and design, filling a crucial gap in the local educational landscape while meeting broader community needs.
Our Ashdod campus expansion marks another strategic step forward, allowing even more students to pursue higher education close to home. By moving to a larger, permanent campus, we’re providing increased access to quality education for thousands of residents who previously had limited options nearby.
SCE graduates, who make up about 15% of Israel’s engineers, often choose to live and work in the south, contributing to local industries, high-tech enterprises, and municipal projects. Through strong industry partnerships, SCE fosters a thriving technological ecosystem, driving regional growth and positioning our graduates as vital contributors to the south’s evolving economy.
